Plot

The story begins with Bob and Larry up on the countertop, though Bob doesn't have a letter to read like he usually does. Larry then mentions that he got an e-mail from a kid from New Jersey about a problem with lying. Though Bob initially thinks that he has no stories relating to the problem, Larry begins to tell a story of his own.

The story begins in the city of Bumblyburg, where Percy Pea and his brother Li'l Pea are leaving the movie theater after watching Invasion of the Cow Snatchers. While talking about the movie, they look up at the sky and see what looks to be like a meteor. At the Bumblyburg Science Lab, Jimmy Gourd is complaining about the boredom of his job while Jerry Gourd is watching the falling meteor on a monitor. When Jimmy finally sees the meteor, the gourds immediately activate "The Larry-Signal", summoning the city's superhero Larry-Boy to action.

The meteor lands in Bumblyburg, and it is revealed to be a small blue alien which hops off. The next day, Junior Asparagus and Laura Carrot are having a tea party at his house. Seeing that they are short a plate for their teddy bear, Mr. Snuggly, Junior decides to borrow his father's prized Limited Edition Art Bigotti collectable bowling plate. When Junior tries to get the plate down, however, it falls off the shelf and breaks on the floor.

As Laura runs home, the alien emerges, and introduced himself to Junior as Fibrilious Minimus (or "Fib" for short). Taking advantage of Junior's fear of getting punished, Fib tells him tha "a little fib couldn't hurt anybody" and talks the asparagus into giving it a try. When Dad comes home and sees the broken plate, instead of telling the truth, Junior tells a story about how Laura broke the plate with a brand-new apple-chopper. Dad believes the story, though he is now upset at Laura, and Fib comes back out to congratulate Junior. Though Junior notices that Fib is now bigger than he was earlier, he pays it no mind and heads out with his new friend by his side.

On the streets of Bumblyburg, Larry-Boy is talking to his butler Alfred while on patrol in the Larry-Mobile. Larry-Boy reports that so far, all he has found is a kid with green hair and a dog that could whistle, Alfred convinces to him to keep looking for the alien. Meanwhile, Fib runs and hides as Junior meets up with Percy. The pea reports that Laura is being punished by her father for breaking the bowling plate, but she is insisting that Junior was the one who broke it. Junior replies with another lie, this time implicating Laura's brother Lenny for feeding the plate to a crocodile. Percy buys the story and leaves, just as Fib reappears. He is now three times Junior's size (and has legs), but is impressed with how well Junior can spin such tall tales. Elsewhere, Larry-Boy gives up his search for the alien out of boredom and returns to his manor.

As the sun set, Junior is cornered by Laura, Percy, and Lenny, who are all angry at Junior for his false stories. Desperate to avoid blame and with Fib gone again, Junior makes up a story about space aliens who switched brains with cows and broke the plate. Percy instantly recognizes it as the exact same story from the movie he saw last night and calls Junior's tale as just another lie. Before anybody can do anything about it, though, a large shadow falls over Junior. It turns out to be Fib, now a gigantic monster. Grabbing Junior, Fib laughs at how "a little fib couldn't hurt anybody" and begins to cause destruction throughout Bumblyburg. The destruction is witnessed by Police Officer Scooter, who orders the station to contact Larry-Boy immediately.

At his manor, Larry is playing a losing game of Candy Land with Alfred, but postpones the game when he looks out the window and sees Bumblyburg being destroyed. Back with Junior, Fib boasts to him that now that he's big, the young asparagus now belongs to his own gigantic lie. Larry-Boy then appears to challenge the giant Fib, who escapes by climbing up the Bumblyburg Water Tower.

While Larry-Boy looks over the situation, Alfred announces that he's made modifications to the Larry-Mobile that should help, but he hadn't yet gotten around to labeling the buttons. Although Alfred initially has trouble remembering which button is which, he succeeds in guiding Larry-Boy to press the right button, turning the Larry-Mobile into a Larry-Plane. Down below on the street, a small crowd has come out to see the crisis, including Junior's parents, and Dad faints when he sees Junior in Fib's clutches.

Unable to attack in the Larry-Plane, Larry-Boy decides to strike the Fib directly by ejecting from the plane and landing on his head. However, Larry-Boy miscalculates and is caught by Fib. Now holding two hostages, Fib declares to Junior that "a big lie will just swallow you up, and you made a REALLY big lie". To prove his point, Fib makes a show of swallowing Larry-Boy. Back at the manor, Alfred is struggling to find any kind of weakness in the giant Fib, ultimately learning that only Junior can stop the monsterous alien.

As Alfred tries to report the news to Larry-Boy over his radio, Junior overhears and realizes that only the truth will set him free. The small asparagus shouts to everybody that he broke the plate, and as he confesses, Fib starts shrinking and weakening until he vanishes completely.

Back with his parents, Junior apologizes to his dad for breaking the plate. Dad and Mom forgive him on the condition that in the future, he'll be telling them the truth the first time. As the crowd disperses, however, Larry-Boy is nowhere to be found. And elsewhere in Bumblyburg, another small alien has just fallen into the city...

Back on the countertop, Larry-Boy joins Bob in closing the show, though the hero wants to wrap it up fast so he can get to a meeting regarding action figures ("Larry-Boy Mania is sweeping the nation" he explains). After the verse (John 8:32) is read, the show concludes with the worldwide debut of the Larry-Boy Music Video.
